Neighborhood: Captain O'Neal Drive in Daphne
Captain O'Neal Drive in Olde Town Daphne, Alabama, was originally first street, the street closest to the bay. Many of the properties along Captain O'Neal front on the bay. Points of interest along Captain O'Neal are Bayside Academy on the north end, the site of the original Baldwin County County Seat (the records were stolen and moved to the current county seat at Bay Minette early in the 20th century), and the park at May park. The street was named after a seagoing Captain, who retired here, and owned a pottery business. Old Towne Daphne is just up the hill.
